Panel Discussion:Academic Comparison of Protocols

Abstract

The ensuing workshop will discuss the challenges of improving industry-academia collaboration toward better blockchain technology development. Topics for discussion will likely include: systematizing and teaching knowledge gained from almost a decade of running Bitcoin and other blockchains in production; creating opportunities for academics to implement, test and deploy their research; developing distributed systems simulators and other empirical research platforms for fair evaluation; and facilitating industry and academia collaboration on high-priority research projects.
