After our calming day on the San Pedro, we drove back into Puerto Montt and took up rooms at the bed and breakfast. That evening we all went out for a seafood dinner that was really good, slept well and went out shopping for souveniers for a little while before going back and catching the van out to the airport for our flight down south. The flight itself was pretty nice, as even though the plane was small it was very modern. There were great views, though landing was strange as you could see straight out the front of the plane to the mountains, which was especially unnerving on landing, as to land at our destination of Chaiten, we had to fly towards the mountainside and turn back to land at what seemed to me to be the last minute.
